The following list does not include those times Jolley was
short listed for an award or prize. Also, when a book appears twice (e.g.,
in 1983 Mr Scobie's Riddle), this indicates that it first won a section
award (e.g., Imaginative Writing) and then was chosen from section winners
as the overall winner of the competition (e.g., Book of the Year).

Fellowship of Australian Writers (State of Victoria), Short Story
Award, for "A Hedge of Rosemary."
1974
Fellowship of Australian Writers (State of Victoria), Moomba
Con Weickhardt Prize for an Unpublished Novel (shared), for Palomino.
The Con Weickardt Prize was awarded annually
until 1975 for the manuscript of a novel by a previously unpublished novelist,
and then was renamed the Herb Thomas Literary Award and given for a published
work of biography, autobiography or memoirs.
ABC Sound Stage Radio Drama Special Prize for a Radio Play,
for "Night Report."

Fellowship of Australian Writers (State of Victoria), Prose Fiction Award,
for Palomino.
Fellowship of Australian Writers (State of Victoria), Short
Story Award, First Prize for "Running on the Spot" ["Two
Men Running"].
Darling Downs Institute [now the University of Southern
Queensland] McGregor Literary Competitions [1980-1981], First Prize for
"Paper Children."

SPACLALS [South Pacific Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language
Studies], First Prize (shared) for "Hep Duck and Hildegarde the Meat."
Fellowship of Australian Writers (State of Victoria), Moomba
Short Story Award, for "The Libation."

AWGIE [Australian Writers' Guild] Award, Best Original Radio Play in 1981,
for "Two Men Running."

Age Book of the Year Award, Imaginative Writing Prize, for Mr Scobie's
Riddle.
Age Book of the Year Award, Book of the Year, for Mr Scobie's

Western Australian Week Literary Award [predecessor of the Western Australian
Premier's Book Award], Prose Fiction, for Mr Scobie's Riddle.
1984
Literature Board of the Australia Council Senior Fellowship, for two and
a half years from January 1984.

Australian Bicentennial Authority National Literary Award, commissioning
a novel, The Sugar Mother, as part of the 1988 Bicentennial celebrations.

Prize for Fiction, for Milk and Honey.
