• The Fremantle Candidate, a play by 2010 JCPML Visiting Scholar Ingle Knight, was the Anniversary event for 2012. The play ran from 19 July to 5 August at PICA.
• Launch of the exhibition Broome 1942 by Lieutenant Colonel Herman Verhoef, Defence Attache from the Australian Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 28 February 2012.

  The portal is a partnership between the University of WA, Curtin University of Technology and the WA Dept for Culture and the Arts, funded by the Australian Research Council's Linkage Infrastructure and Equipment Fund. Professor Richard Nile and Kandy-Jane Henderson from Curtin are both Chief Investigators for this grant.

• World premiere of play Shadow of the Eagle in Western Australia. Produced by the Perth Theatre Company in association with JCPML and first performed at the Playhouse Theatre in Perth on 24 May 2003, the play focusses on the historic first meeting between US General Douglas MacArthur and Australian Prime Minister John Curtin in March 1942.
