Without delay, the Curtin government caused aerodromes, roads, docks, plants and oil installations to spring up all over Australia. In a matter of months, Curtin caught up with years of other men's neglect. His government doubled our munition output, engaged over 144,000 men and women to forge the weapons of victory.
