The former Governor-General
of the Commonwealth of Australia (1989-1996), Mr Hayden entered politics
in 1961 as the Member of the House of Representatives for Oxley. He was
Leader of the Opposition from 1977 to 1983 and has served as both Minister
for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Minister for Social Security.Amongst his awards are the Prior Order St John Australia and the Gwanghwa Medal Korean Order Diplomatic Merit.
