PEOPLE IN THE NEWS

Mr J. Curtin, M.H.R., whose speech on the Reserve Bank Bill proved, when published in pamphlet form, to be a "best seller" throughout the Commonwealth, has prepared another pamphlet which is now in the hands of the printer. In it Mr Curtin discusses the financial situation of the Commonwealth and shows how the years of extortion by the Money Power have brought misery to the nation. He also indicates the path that must be taken if we would get out of our present trouble with as little suffering as possible and also the procedure necessary for the avoidance of even greater troubles in the future. This pamphlet will be on sale at the Trades Hall next week, where copies may be obtained from the secretary of the State Executive of the A.L.P. The price is 2d. per copy, or 1/6 per dozen copies.

Mr J. Curtin M.H.R, will be leaving for the East by the trans-train on October 15 in order to be present at the pre-sessional meeting of the Party which will be one of the greatest importance. During his stay in the West, since the last session closed Mr Curtin has been a busy man and has once again rendered valuable assistance to the Movement in this State. In addition, he has addressed a number of public meetings which have all been largely attended. One, held in the Fremantle Town Hall brought the biggest crowd together which has been seen within its walls for a meeting connected with current politics when a general election was not being contested. Fremantle electors have been showing their appreciation of the work being done by their representative between sessions and in keeping them in touch with the inside of things in the Federal Parliament.
