Records work to act as reference points within a process to enable planning, reporting, evaluation of critical factors such as progress, productivity, achievement and riskThese records are needed at the beginning, the end and at regular intervals during the life of an organisation or project. They provide objective 'snapshots' of how things are going and enable us to assess progress, success and failure. For example: Annual reports, strategic plans, testing and evaluation results, reports of output and impacts. This annual report of the Australian Journalists' Association (Western Australian Branch) records the activities and financial balance sheet of the Association for 1984-85. The cover features the membership of application of John Curtin who joined the WA Branch in 1927.
