Hon. Neville Kenneth Wran, AC, QC (b.1926)



Mr Wran was admitted to the NSW Bar in 1957 as a solicitor before entering politics. He was Leader of the Opposition from 1973 to 1976 before becoming Premier of New South Wales in 1976 until 1986. During this time he was also Minister of Ethnic Affairs, the Arts, and Treasurer. Mr Wran was National President of the ALP from 1980 to 1986.

Mr Wran is Executive Chairman, Turnbull & Partners Limited, Investment Bankers and is Deputy Chancellor of Bond University, Queensland. He is the Chairman of Ghana Gold Mines Ltd and Director of British Aerosapce Australia. He is the Australian representative of the Eminent Persons Group Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and was Chairman of the Lionel Murphy Foundation, CSIRO from 1986 to 1991.
