Onsite education programs
A range of programs and tours are offered for school students, tertiary students and community groups visiting the JCPML and its exhibition.
For tertiary students and community groups
The JCPML welcomes groups interested in areas such as archives and records management, library and information science, politics, cultural and museum studies, history and education.
School groups
Programs for school students are tailored to suit the WA curriculum and include role plays, drama activities, document studies and visits to the JCPML exhibition. Programs are offered to suit students from years 5 to 12.
For students in years 5 to 7
Two programs are offered addressing curriculum content across Society and Environment and the Arts - Exploring Australia at war; and
A week on the wireless.
For students in years 8 to 10
The JCPML offers four excellent History/Civics programs:
Exploring Australia at war; A week on the wireless; Debating conscription - Parliament 1943; and An Extraordinary Allied Nations Summit Meeting.
For students in years 11 and 12
The programs provide an opportunity to introduce your students to the work of a respected research archive, to experience history through primary resources, and to use historical knowledge to interpret the past while experiencing a taste of university life. The programs use some or all of the following: role play (scripted and unscripted), document studies, cartoon interpretation, exhibition interpretation, critical research and writing skills.
