Sir Charles Court Young Leaders Program

The Sir Charles Court Young Leaders Program is a joint initiative of Curtin University and the History Teachers' Association of WA.

The program, which commenced in 1999, is based on the shared ideals of Sir Charles Court and John Curtin: Vision, Leadership and Community.

Each year 30 year 10 students are selected from WA schools to attend an intensive and stimulating four day residential program at Curtin during the July holidays. Participants engage with inspirational speakers and situations and are challenged and invigorated. They are encouraged to return to their schools and communities and build on the experiences of the program.

The JCPML has provided active support for the program since its inception. The Manager, Research Services, serves on the Management Committee for the program and the JCPML Education Officer works with the Activities Committee and delivers an historical skills development workshop for participating students.
