Showcasing the collection

The collection is showcased and accessible via a number of national websites.

Australia's Prime Ministers website

Launched in November 2002, the National Archives of Australia's Australia's Prime Ministers website acts as a gateway for a virtual network of key Australian and overseas collections of original materials on Australia's prime ministers. The JCPML was the only non-national or state institution to be a partner with the NAA in this undertaking.

The JCPML provides information about records relating to John and Elsie Curtin and also to Hazel Hawke via the following pages which offer biographical details and further information about the records in the collection.

Picture Australia and Trove (National Library of Australia)

Picture Australia, hosted by the National Library of Australia, allows users to search many significant online pictorial collections at the same time. The JCPML joined Picture Australia in November 2003, and now provides thousands of images to the service. The JCPML was the first Western Australian agency to add its images to Picture Australia. The picture collections can also be searched via the Trove search interface.

Libraries Australia and Trove (National Library of Australia)

The National Library of Australia's Libraries Australia allows the public to search the Australian National Bibliographic Database (ANBD) which records the location of items in most Australian academic, research, national, state, public and special libraries. Since 2008, the JCPML has been contributing records to Libraries Australia at creator level. These records are searchable on the database by limiting your search options to Manuscripts.

The archival collections can also be searched via the Trove search interface.

Western Australian Cultural Heritage Portal

The Western Australian Cultural Heritage Portal, launched in April 2005, allowed researchers to search simultaneously the collections of a number of institutions, including the JCPML, University of WA Library, Berndt Museum of Anthropology, Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, State Library of WA and the National Archives of Australia. The portal was a partnership between the University of WA, Curtin University of Technology and the WA Dept for Culture and the Arts, funded by the Australian Research Council's Linkage Infrastructure and Equipment Fund. Professor Richard Nile and Kandy-Jane Henderson from Curtin were both Chief Investigators for this grant. This service ceased in May 2010.
