Officially opened in September 1972, the five storey brick and concrete Robertson Library dominated the Bentley campus physically and provided an educational pivot for staff and students of the newly established West Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT).

Forty years on, in 2012, it remains at the heart of Curtin University, providing a place for research and reflection, learning and social engagement.
